Season of Gratitude

I hope everyone who reads this blog had a perfectly lovely Thanksgiving Day holiday.

My beautiful wife and I had the most delightful Thanksgiving holiday ever.  We decided to graciously decline the dinner invitations we received in favor of a day alone, just the two of us.  We opted for a day of play, gratitude and love for two… and, yes, we spent a day in our pajamas.

Peaches prepared for us a wonderful meal, simple and delicious.  But the best part of being married to a pastry chef, of course, is the desserts.

We spent the day nibbling at the most scrumptious apple caramel tart ever.  The crust was perfect, light and crisp with perfect flakiness.  It makes me light headed just thinking about it.

As if that wasn’t enough, she also made a perfectly delicious pumpkin pie, not too sweet, spiced perfectly with a flakey crust to die for.

But she saved the best for Saturday night.  Our beloved friend Mariah celebrated her birthday Saturday with a dinner party and game night.  Peaches made Mariah the most unbelievably delicious cake I’ve ever tasted.  This creation defies words:

Seriously!  This was a 12 layer work of art.  It was sponge cake, chocolate sponge cake, espresso hazelnut meringue, and 2 kinds of butter cream (real butter cream… Peaches spent hours making this cake) and nearly a pound of bitter-sweet chocolate.  This cake was a manifestation of pure love straight from Peaches’ heart.

Peaches and I have so much to be grateful for this holiday season.  We created our dream wedding this year.  We’ve surrounded ourselves with the most loving friends and family ever.  We’ve settled into our beloved home.  Peaches and I have created the life of our dreams, filled with love, laughter and good food.  Together we make a life of never ending gratitude, constant gestures and words of love, unselfconscious open affection, and passion in all that we do.  All we do we do for each other and we’re never afraid to say so.

Peaches and I have spent a lifetime searching for each other, and now that we’re together everyday is Thanksgiving.

Thank you to all our friends and to our family for sharing in the bounty of our good fortune and prosperity.  We love you all and look forward to long years together in joy and love.

Blessings,

K and P

  1. My beloved and I also spent our lifetime trying to find one another….. we hit a rough patch two years back, and actually spent one year apart. Since we have returned to where we belong, together, every day is a total blessing, for our love, and the love for and of our beautiful daughter, who turns 11 this week. I am so happy that you also share that love, appreciation, gratitude and commitment to one another; it is refreshing to see!!!! Blessings to both of you……..Vanessa

  2. Thank you, Vanessa. You are a darling.

My Lovey and I spent a lot of years before we met swimming upstream against the current of our own well-being before we realized that true love is a “relaxing into” experience rather than a “fighting for” experience. (Be still and know that I am God!) I don’t think we could have recognized each other before we were ready to “be still”.

May you and your dear one evermore relax into the still certainty of your Divine heart, as individuals, as a unit, as an example to all who aspire to the fulfillment of everything that they intended to be in this life.

    XO,
    K
